Germans love dogs

Many Australians may be aware of this because of the popularity of the show Inspector Rex (which in English translates to Inspector Dog).

However I've been surprised to find out the true extent of Germany's love of dog. Dogs just run rampant in the street, on buses and even in shoe stores!

The wealthier amongst these people even dress up their dogs in costumes to parade about like court elephants.
